Our Club History
RC Flyers club first started in 1990 when a group of seven residents obtained permission to fly RC model aircraft in a field behind the residential area. Since then, the club has grown to over 170 members and has moved the field three times. The current location remains within our gated community and is situated on a fourteen-acre site with a 600 by 50 foot asphalt and adjacent grass runways. This new flying site was completed and dedicated in October 2019.
Our Flying Field
OTOW RC FLYERS field has a 600x 50 ft asphalt runway and an adjacent 600 X 50 ft grass runway. A permanent 20 X 40 ft pavilion provides shelter from the frequent summertime afternoon thunderstorms, as well as covered set-up tables. Located 6 1/2 miles West of I-75 Exit 350 West on Hwy 200, Turn right on SW 99th street road at the stop light, look for the large On Top of The World Communities sign. Go through the gate on SW 99th St. RD to SW 94th St, turn left at the Meridian Preserve sign. Take 94th ST. to the round-about and turn right at the sign for Long Leaf RV Storage. Follow the road to the flying field.
